Currency, purchases and customs

Currency
When leaving France, you may take an unlimited amount of foreign currency.
Cash, bonds or assets in excess of €10,000 must be declared to French customs.
Before departure, inquire about applicable legislation in the destination country.

                             

Duty-free shopping
V.A.T. refund is applicable for persons 15 years of age and over, residing outside the E.U., and only concerns non-commercial tourist purchases of amounts exceeding €175  in any one shop and on the same day.
You must inform the sales person that you wish to make a duty-free purchase. You will receive an export sales slip with your purchase.
All export sales slips must be approved by the airport customs office before you check in.
If the shop has a contract with Travelex, go to their counter, where you will receive V.A.T. refund directly. If not, send your export sales slips to the shop to receive your V.A.T. money by post.

- Terminal 1 : Departures level, CDGVAL, hall 6
- Terminal 2A : Departures level, exit 5
- Terminal 2B : Departures level, exit 7
- Terminal 2C : Departures level, exit 4
- Terminal 2E : Departures level, exit 8
- Terminal 2F : Arrivals level
- Terminal 3 : Departures level.

 
At Paris-Orly :
- Terminal Sud : Departures level, exit G
- Terminal Ouest : Arrivals level, exit E

 


PABLO system
If you make duty-free purchases of products with export sales slips with the PABLO logo, the V.A.T. refund procedure is simplified.
To obtain your tax refund, you must :
- Go to the "Détaxe douane" customs tax refund office to have your slip approved at a Pablo call terminal, before checking in your luggage.
- After passport control, confirm the tax refund by presenting your slip,
- If the shop has a contract with Travelex, go to their counter, where you will receive V.A.T. refund directly. If not, send your export sales slips to the shop to receive your V.A.T. money by post.

At Paris-Charles de Gaulle :
Terminal 1: Departures level, hall 1 exit 8
Terminal 2A: Departures level, exit 5
Terminal 2B: Departures level, exit 7
Terminal 2C: Departures level, exit 4
Terminal 2E: Departures level, exit 8
Terminal 2F: Arrivals level
Terminal 3: Departures level.

At Paris-Orly : South Terminal Departures level, exit G

- Drugs and therapeutic products (other than passenger personal needs),
